MEMBERSHIP

VFW Auxiliary membership is our commitment to serve our Veterans. We belong so that we can be of benefit to the organization. We are the task force that serves our veterans and their families. It is an honor to be able to join the VFW Auxiliary. Our goal for the state of Texas is 100% + and each year it is a challenge. Sisters and Brothers, together we can achieve this goal. We have the fortitude, determination and zeal to do so. We break our work down into these very significant parts:

- Retention of current members

- Outreach to former members

- Recruitment of new members

The challenge in retention and outreach to former members is to be sure we are communicating all through the year with every member. Members need to know what we are doing and why. So, as you think of yourself as a membership promoter, remember it goes on all year long. We are working for high membership numbers in 2021- 2022 as well as all the years ahead.

AUXILIARY AWARDS

  • One established Auxiliary in each Membership Division that secures the largest number of new members from July 1, 2021– March 31, 2022 will receive a $50.00 cash award at the Department Convention.

  • One new Auxiliary - instituted since July 1, 2021 - in each Membership Division making the greatest gain in Membership will receive a $50.00 cash award at the Department Convention.

  • One established Auxiliary in each Membership Division that reaches 100%+ by December 15, 2021 will receive a $25.00 cash award if it is in Department office by the Dec. 15 deadline.

  • A special invitation to the “We Tip Our Hats to Vets” Celebration at Mid-Winter will be extended to each Auxiliary President and Membership Chair when the Auxiliary reaches 100% by December 15, 2021. If Auxiliary President or Membership Chair does not attend, (1) Auxiliary Representative will be allowed.

DISTRICT AWARDS

  • District Presidents: Please anticipate a Transmittal Walk at State Training. There will be a $30.00 cash  award to the District President who brings in the most continuous transmittals, new annual members and new Life Memberships.

  • Special invitation to the “We Tip Our Hats To Vets” Celebration at Mid-Winter will be extended to the District President and Membership Chair when the District reaches 95% by December 15, 2021. If District President or Membership Chair does not attend, (1) District Representative will be allowed.

  • The first three District Presidents to reach 100%+ by December 15, 2021 of the District’s Membership Quota will receive:

    • First place $100.00

    • Second Place $75.00

    • Third Place $50.00
